Airport Rotary Foundation

The Airport Rotary Foundation (ARF) was created in 1996 by John Alvord, a charter member of the Rotary Club of Eugene Airport. In that year, six Eugene area high school students were awarded $1000 each.

In 2003, we expanded to awarding an additional $750 to qualifying students for each of their remaining three years in higher education.

In 2024, thirty-eight high school students were awarded $2000 each and forty qualifying college students received an additional $1000. Additional stipends of $300 each were awarded for special recognition to five other students for a total of $117,500 distributed.

In this twenty-eight year period, the Airport Rotary Foundation has awarded over 545 high school students and 486 college students $1,363,650.

And, we are a club of fewer than fifty members.

Rotary Club of Eugene Airport

The Rotary Club of Eugene Airport (RCEA) was founded in 1985. It is just one of 34,282 Rotary clubs in 200 countries throughout the world. Rotarians are 1.2 million community leaders with the mission of humanitarian service and peace around the world. It is a non-political, non-sectarian organization, open to all regardless of race, creed, religion, or gender.

In addition to organizing the annual ARF auction to support higher education, RCEA members support the local community through a number of service projects that focus on education, literacy, food insecurity and homelessness. We also support international projects that focus on education, medical care, and clean water.

The Rotary Club of Eugene Airport meets weekly for a general meeting. These are not only social and planning events, but also entertaining presentations regarding other services and programs in our community. We come together as strangers and become a family of friends.

The Four-Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
